Soul winning and discipleship is the mission of Jesus Christ and His church. For this very purpose, He gave up His divine life in heaven, took the form of a mere mortal, lived among them and died for them as the perfect sacrifice. During his three years on earth, the primary ministry of Jesus was to reconcile man to God. Releasing the Father’s love in salvation and healing to wholeness restored the distortion of sin and brokenness in humanity. This is the work of miraculous grace where the power of shame, guilt, uncertainties, fear, hatred and unforgiveness are demolished. Grace advocates faith in Jesus Christ to trust in His security and embrace His love in the escalating evil of this generation.
God’s people must herald this cause. We must tread on deeper waters in obedience in becoming “fishers of men. With this, God opened a door for us in mid April and gave us the privilege to acquire a 750 square meters space to expand this vision. This area is situated in Rizal street, a movie house, formerly known as Grace cinema. There were many contenders eyeing at this place, but with God’s favour, the landlord was happy to lease his property to us. But there is much renovation to be done before we can use the premises. This new church site will become a light house in the market place, a city on the hill. As members of Christ, it is our responsibility to direct broken and lost hearts to Christ into this house. This opportunity is not accidental but a season of God’s appointment for us, Savioiurites. God has chosen us specially and specifically for this purpose. He has paved for us an additional sanctuary. When we submit to His calling, the opportunity becomes a channel of blessing for others, where in turn, we are blessed by God Himself. This is a new era of challenge where our Lord will instruct us to increase our faith, stretch our resources to build the new house of God for His glory. When Joshua commanded Israel to conquer Canaan and take back their inheritance, he commanded them to be strong and courageous because The Lord will be with them in their conquest. They need to move before God can move into their conquest. Here lies the spiritual principle where God’s people are to be pro-active in believing and winning battles. If we stay on the side lines, unwilling to follow the call of the Spirit, we will miss the chance, and miss the open doors of blessings for our generations. For every sowing comes a harvest. For evey challenge comes the abundance. For every piece of ground that we tread on, it becomes our possession. All we need is faith in Christ to obey. Hesitation is a sign of fear, indifference and complacency, advocating walking by sight and not by faith.
Savourites let us rise and cross the Red Sea. The Lord will defeat our enemies of insufficient funds, manpower, doubts, negative thoughts and criticism. Remember, The Lord destroyed the most powerful entity for Moses – the superpower of Pharoah of Egypt, thereby setting His people free with the blessed promised inheritance of the enemy’s land in Canaan. This is a new era and moment to break through another standard of heavenly favour and abundant blessings as we launch into the deep waters and follow our Master’s call in making fishers of men.
